Professional Norwegian translator from USA

I am a native Norwegian, freelance translator with 30 years residency in the United States. I have a Master's degree in Fine Arts and six years of translating experience from English, Danish, and Swedish to Norwegian, and from Norwegian to English. I like to combine creativity with attention to detail, and for me it is important to convey the message accurately, but in the same spirit as the original text. My goal is always to produce a text in the target language that sounds as if its original, and not translated. I grew up in Norway and moved to the United States to go to college for a while. I ended up staying in the Midwest and completed my higher education here. I have been a studio potter and designer in my own studio for 25 years and continue to do so, but translation has become my full-time occupation. I love languages and the challenges this work affords me. Eventually I would like to combine my two worlds of languages and art and translate mainly art and culture content, but I have many interests and can't turn down projects that involve, for instance, travel, marketing, IT, apps and web site content, video games, nature, technical/mechanical, literature, cooking, and much more.
